After GP training in Middlesbrough we moved down south to join a group practice in Beckenham. We retired in 2012 after 33 years and still live in the same area.
We have three sons, two live nearby and one is in Edinburgh. Between them they have given us five grandchildren who keep us entertained and busy.
We make regular visits to Edinburgh and always feel a pang of nostalgia when the train from Kings Cross passes through Newcastle.
Retirement is great. We love having the time to travel to far flung places, most recently Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. But we also enjoy walking in our beautiful local parks and in London where there is always something new to explore.
We’ll be celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary in July with a family holiday in Croatia. With 13 of us (ages 5 – 75) it’s sure to be chaotic, but fun!
