When I tell friends about our 50 year reunion, I have to metaphorically pinch myself. How can it be 50 years ago that we qualified?
I did GP training in Southampton and had 10 years as a principal in Skelton in Cleveland. I then retrained in Newcastle as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and moved to the country for my consultant job in Tynedale, based in Hexham.
Unfortunately, I had a couple of significant episodes of depression and had to retire early. I’m now very well and enjoying my retirement to the full.
I was a full time carer for my mother for some years. She died last year, aged 102½ so I find myself free to travel whenever and wherever I want to.
This year I’ve been to Namibia, Morocco, Keswick, Knaresborough and the Isle of Lewis. I’m soon off to Iceland and then Ireland, Harris and Ullapool.
I’m a keen photographer and walker (despite a new knee and a new hip over the past 6 years).
I am looking forward to meeting everyone who is at the reunion and listening to you with my newly acquired hearing aids!
