After graduating and house jobs at Newcastle General I completed my GP training on the Newcastle Scheme. The practice I did my training with offered me a part-time partnership which I took up 6 months after completing the scheme and the birth of our son, John. No one year maternity leave then.
We moved to Morpeth in 1982 where we remain. The move was to be nearer the practice in Ashington as we still did our own on-call. Maddy was born in 1983.
Over the years I became a full time partner in the practice and retired completely in 2010.
In retirement I try to keep fit by playing badminton and doing Zumba and I try to keep my brain active by playing bridge!
As well as it being the “Golden Reunion” it is 50 years since Andy and I got married so we are having a Golden Year.
