Hi All! Still going strong. I took my NHS pension at 60 and carried on working for Northumbria Trust on the bank and privately at the Nuffield until 2019 when I hung up my anaesthetic tackle for good and became chief wedding planner for our daughter Katie and her lovely husband Simon. Glorious day at the Grand in Tynemouth was had by all.
Our son James moved to New Zealand 15 years ago with his then wife Kirsten, produced two gorgeous granddaughters Isla and Elise and has now married another Kiwi, Courtney and given us a third beautiful girl, Freya. We have travelled regularly to see them and they all came to us for Christmas 2024, the girls first cold Christmas. Great fun was had by all. After 9 house guests for over two weeks, I needed some time to get over it!
Tim and I are still living in leafy Jesmond in easy retirement. We have recently acquired an all electric car, an air fryer and an induction hob in an attempt to save the planet.
I happily volunteer at Jesmond Community Library, not quite as exciting as giving anaesthetics but the skill set accomplished during all those years of working with staff and patients proving very useful!
Looking forward to seeing you all in July.
