The Class of 75 Reunion

1975-2025 The Golden One

Tony Statham

I met Kath when she was a trainee nurse in Bristol and I was a patient. We emigrated to Newcastle for my medical training and some of you will remember Kath as a sister on the coronary care unit in the RVI. June 75 was a memorable time as our first child Lucy arrived 2 weeks before graduation!  Another daughter and a son were to arrive a few years later. Due to a mix-up at Shrewsbury hospital we found ourselves with baby and jobless until by pure chance a house job came along in my native city of Chester where we have lived happily ever since.

A partnership offer in General Practice prior to completing vocational training was not to be missed in those days and so a career in General practice followed. Kath enjoyed being a practice nurse once family commitments allowed. Dismayed by the changes in general practice we both embraced retirement with glee and have enjoyed being able to see more of our 4 grandsons. A static caravan in Keswick and a passion for hill walking has enabled us to continue to keep reasonably fit and enjoy the outdoors. We have kept in touch with 3 of my anatomy table colleagues and look forward to meeting the rest of you at the reunion.
